Autumn/Winter 2025 Fashion Trends: The Key Looks and How to Wear Them
Pistachio Green: A seasonal refreshing lift
Source: Pinterest
If brown is going to ground us, pistachio green will lifts us. This soft, pale shade of green is everywhere for AW25, from beautiful silky slip dresses to chunky knits. When searching this colour it may also be called granny smith green, mint, avocado or chartreuse, but whatever the name given, this zesty green is certainly going to lift your autumn wardrobe!
As it’s maybe a little trickier to visualise, here are some suggestions on how to wear pistachio for AW25:
Experiment with knits – try a pistachio cardigan layered over a neutral base
Play with textures – mix a silky blouse with heavier wool trousers
Go full look – a pistachio midi dress feels fresh against darker winter coats
Use as an accent colour – add a pistachio handbag, earring, nail or shoe for a subtle nod
Pair with depth – chocolate brown, slate grey, or bubblegum pink balance the green beautifully
It’s a refreshing and playful update to the darker palettes we usually see in winter, so see it as your seasonal pick-me-up.
Mood: Power Suits

Tailoring gets strong this season – literally. Shoulders are squared ( I love this as an 80’s baby), fabrics are classic (think grey pinstripes & wool checks), and the vibe is unapologetically powerful. Whether you opt for a slouchy trouser suit, a structured skirt suit, or just an oversized coat, the masculine mood in tailoring is one of the defining silhouettes of AW25.
Mood: Biker Energy

The biker jacket never really goes away, and is an absolute wardrobe staple– but this season, it has evolved. Instead of just throwing it over jeans, designers showed head-to-toe biker looks with matching skirts or trousers. If that feels too bold (I think even I find this too bold!), pair your leather with something softer – think a floaty floral dress under a cropped moto jacket. This is the perfect way to channel boho rock chick meets biker cool, which sounds like a great combination to me!
Mood: Romantic Heroine

In amongst balancing all the toughness on the runways, designers have also leaned into romance. Expect ruffles, bows, soft draping, and barely-there pastels in blush, peach, and powder pink. These looks feel almost fairytale-like, a feminine contrast to power suiting & biker leather.
The Key Items of AW25
Fur Coats (Faux, but hyper-realistic): The faux fur debate continues, with coats so realistic they spark conversation. Born from the “mob wife” aesthetic of early 2024, this is glamour dialled up high & continues to stick around
Draped Coats: If fur isn’t your thing, choose a cocoon-like draped coat – sculptural yet practical
Long Skirts: Hemlines are dropping; skirts that hit the knee and drop below it are key. From neat pencil skirts to soft, floaty midis (or maxis in my wardrobe as those are my preferred length), the mood is demure elegance.
The Key Prints & Shapes

Checks & Tartans: Lean into British heritage with plaids and tartans. For a modern twist, clash them together, or keep it refined by pulling out a single colour, keep your eye out for some Traitors influence again
Volume: Designers are playing with proportion – peplums, oversized hems, exaggerated sleeves. Not all are ready-to-wear now, but these shapes will filter down, and soften to a somewhat more wearable everyday
Fringing: We have moved on from cowboy boots and jackets (thanks Taylor Swift Era tour) to a more elevated & elegant vibe, fringe is swinging its way in a more considered way, tailoring & accessories. Even one subtle tassel detail ticks the box
Autumn/Winter 2025 feels like a season of balance. On one side, you have structured power dressing & biker toughness; on the other, soft romance & fluid femininity. Neutral shades like chocolate brown ground us, while pistachio green adds a playful lift. It’s about finding the right mix of these moods that feels authentic to your personal style, & those styles that fit easily into your current wardrobe.
Don’t forget, fashion & trends are never about wearing everything at once (or buying into anything that doesn't suit your body shape, colour analysis and personal style), it’s about choosing the trends that light you up and styling them in a way that feels like you. And if you need any help incorporating these trends or with your Autumn wardrobe you know where I am!
